These halal Crack Burgers are juicy, cheesy, and packed with flavor thanks to ranch seasoning and melted cheddar inside the patties. An easy comfort-food recipe that’s perfect for family dinners or weekend grilling.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 6 burgers

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ lb (680 g) halal ground chuck (80/20)

  • 3 Tbsp halal sour cream

  • 2 Tbsp ranch dressing mix (halal-certified)

  • 1 cup shredded halal cheddar cheese

  • 6 hamburger buns

  • Lettuce leaves (optional, for topping)

  • Tomato slices (optional, for topping)

  • Onion slices (optional, for topping)

  • Pickles (optional, for topping)

  • Mustard, mayo, or sauce of choice

Instructions

  • Mix the patties

    • In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, and shredded cheddar cheese.

    • Mix gently with your hands or a sturdy spoon until just combined. Don’t overmix, or the burgers will become tough.

  • Shape the patties

    • Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions.

    • Form into patties, pressing a small dimple into the center of each one to prevent puffing during cooking.

  • Preheat the grill or skillet

    • Heat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium heat. Lightly oil the surface to prevent sticking.

  • Cook the burgers

    • Place the patties on the hot surface and cook to desired doneness:

      • 130–135°F for medium-rare

      • 140–145°F for medium

      • 160°F for well-done

    • Avoid pressing down on the patties, as this releases juices.

  • Rest and assemble

    • Let the patties rest for 3–5 minutes after cooking.

    • Serve on hamburger buns with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and your favorite sauces.

Notes

  • Keep ingredients cold before mixing to prevent greasy patties.

  • Toast the buns lightly for extra flavor and texture.

  • Use a meat thermometer for perfect results every time.

  • For a lighter version, use lean ground beef or turkey.
